Frequently Asked Questions - Ericht Holiday Lodges

These are the most commonly asked questions

Are the lodges in Blairgowrie?

Well yes and no, Blairgowrie is situated on the western bank of the river Ericht and the lodges are situated on the eastern bank of the river. On this side of the river you are in Rattray. Although Rattray is smaller it offers more of a residential and country setting but of course just across the bridge in Blairgowrie you have all the advantages of a larger town offering amenities such as shops, supermarkets, garages, gift shops etc. Our lodges have a secluded setting but just a short walk, by pavement and street lighting, takes you into the town letting you enjoy the best of both worlds.

Can we smoke in the lodges?

No, all our lodges are now strictly non smoking. Ashtrays are available on the balcony for our guests convenience, however we require the French windows to be kept closed at those times whilst smoking outside. Please see our booking terms for further information.

Are pets welcome?

Yes, however, i n order to continue to make our lodges pet friendly we must insist on a few rules (they may sound a bit harsh but it's really important that they are followed). We hope you enjoy our many walks around Rattray and Blairgowrie, whilst in the grounds we must insist that your pet is kept on a lead at all times. Please clean up after your dogs; it is really important for the health and hygiene of our other visitors. At no point should dogs be left in the lodges on their own. Dogs are definitely NOT allowed in bedrooms on beds or on any other furniture. The current charge per pet per week is £20 or £4 per night for short stays.

How far is the nearest pub or restaurant?

Around a 10 minute walk. Blairgowrie and Rattray are fortunate to have a wide variety of pubs, restaurants and takeaways to make your holiday a real break from those every day chores. If you do love to cook you will be spoilt by our independent fish monger, butchers, cheese shop and green grocers. Set in the fertile Strathmore Valley , Blairgowrie is blessed with access to high quality beef, lamb, fish and game, fresh asparagus (May), strawberries (June), Raspberries (July-Aug) all available from Perthshire's many farm shops.

Is bed linen included?

Yes all beds are made up as required before your arrival. Our rates do not include the hire of towels; these can be booked in advance for £5 for a set of 2. We do supply tea towels, a bath mat and hand towel per lodge.

Do you have laundry facilities?

Yes we now have a small laundry with a coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a washing line by each lodge and a clothes horse in each lodge.
